My Ancestors

How reliable are those websites that find your ancestors?

My aunt is on this website that finds your ancestors names and I don’t know how reliable they are… It says were related to Scottish kings that branched off due to daughters, since daughters didn’t inherit the kingdom in those days. It is also saying that we are verrrrrry distantly related to the english royalty as well. Because of King James I, etc. Is it all b******* or is there some truth in it. Because while it is very cool, it seems far fetched.

The are only as reliable as the people who have submitted information are in the research they do.
I use them for clues and little more, unless they have documented source information.
As far as being related to royalty, many Americans are. They had a tendency to send their bastard children to the colonies. You didn’t indicate which King James (Scotland or England) who refer to
however, James I of England was James VI of Scotland and inherited the English throne when Elizabeth I died. There is about 300 years between James 1 of Scotland and James I of England. As with more royalty the pedigree charts are rather well known and it would be rather easy to research. I have followed on line of my family to being the illegitimate child of the English Court. Sent to the US to gain
wealth and become the governor of one of the colonies.

Approaching the voice as an instrument, British-born Indian Sheila Chandra brings an expansive, timeless quality to this collection of improvised songs based on ragas and modern folk music. Most of the tracks, outside of the drone, are unadorned–as is Chandra’s pretty voice, simple in its low tone and unaffected in vocal style. Still, Chandra travels to expansive places, reliving her days as Mons…
